Leadership in our local chapter is one of the most rewarding professional development activities available in ACMP. Board service is also an opportunity to ensure representation of the full diversity of our group in our leadership and decision making. If you are ready to bring your creativity, energy, and passion for change management, we invite you to consider running for the board.

The following four board positions (described in detail here) have two-year terms commencing October 1, 2020 and serving through September 30, 2022:

1) President - The chief executive officer of the chapter responsible for implementing the strategic plans and policies of the chapter and presiding over board meetings.  

2) Treasurer - The Treasurer oversees all accounting functions including tracking income and expense, reconciling bank accounts, and preparing financial reports. 

3) Membership Chairperson - This position is responsible for the retention and engagement of existing members and recruitment of new ones.

4) Sponsorship Chairperson - This position solicits participation from potential sponsors and manages the relationship with those who sponsor the chapter.

Several of our current board members will host informational sessions to share what you can expect as an elected board member. We want to answer your questions so you can make an informed decision about running for any of these positions. You can request an invitation with this link.

The first commitment for all new board members is orientation scheduled in September and an annual planning meeting held on Saturday, October 3. Due to Covid-19 restrictions, these meetings will be virtual and times are yet to be determined. Other commitments include attending the monthly board meetings, attending as much programming as possible, and overseeing volunteers and/or a committee.

  • Interested members complete the candidate nomination form by Tuesday, August 25.
  • Candidate bios will be shared with all members on the website Friday, August 28.
  • The election will be open August 31 - September 4.
  • Results will be announced to the membership Wednesday, September 9.
